Bonus Bags ~ $30

Our "Bonus Bags" are goody bags filled with samples, unique coupons, special offers, discounts, etc. These bags are a great way for you to advertise your business or services to our families. Please attach a "special offer" for BRSM shoppers only to your business card. We hand out these bags free of charge to the first 150 customers during our private pre-sale and the first day we are open to the public.

To guarantee space in our "Bonus Bags", we must receive your payment. Space in the bags is available on a first paid, first confirmed basis. Deadline to reserve your "Bonus Bag" space is two weeks before the next sale (March 8-10). We will limit the number of items that go in the bags. Please do not wait until the last minute as the bags may fill before the deadline.

*We have a great opportunity for a business to donate the bags themselves. We only need 150 bags with your business name/logo/info on it. Imagine all of our shoppers walking around with our bags with your name on it, what great extra publicity! You can include an offer inside the bag at no additional cost too! If you would like to include a business card, brochure or other sales tool for your business it must be attached to a special offer that you are running for BRSM customers. Repeat after me: Consignment Sales are not Garage Sales, Consignment Sales are not Garage Sales...There's a lot of "misunderstanding" about consignment sales. Until you've been to a really good one, its hard to appreciate the full value in these sales. If you are one of those trendy moms who is skeptical of the whole consignment thing, here are a few things you should know.

1. You Won’t Be Wearing What EVERYONE Else is Wearing!

When my little one was “little” he wore the same ol’ Carter’s & Target outfits as every other child. I can recall several instances where we showed up to play groups or the library with Jack wearing the EXACT same outfit as another child. While not as stressful as say, showing up to prom in the same dress, I was quickly OVER the whole look like everyone else thing. At consignment sales, you can see TONS of brands across several seasons and definitely won’t be wearing the same ol’ same ol’!

2. Boutique Items at Prices You CAN Afford

Boutique items can get very expensive and most of the time, they get worn very little. At consignment sales, you can pick up incredible boutique clothes at 30-90% off retail pricing.

3. New with Tags

Most folks don’t realize this, but there are always tons of brand new items with tags at consignment sales!

4. Volunteer to Get the Good Stuff

This is definitely the number one secret of the pros! The good stuff gets gone early in the sale. If you volunteer, you can shop the volunteer pre-sale at most sales and can get your hands on the best items first! If you go on the final days AND you are a picky mom, you'll be totally disappointed in the selection. Go early to get the good stuff!

5. Seasonal clothing that’s barely worn

Easter outfits, Christmas sweaters, Halloween costumes… all at incredible prices! Seasonal clothing is a steal at consignment sales and it’s usually in great condition because it gets barely any wear!

6. Vendors!

Most sales have incredible vendors – from smocked clothing and monogrammed items to fabulous accessories.

For Consignors:

1. Clean Out Your Closets and Start Labeling!
The benefits are two-fold. First, you’ll get some extra closet space. Second, you’ll get the added benefits of early shopping at most sales. And that means you’ll get your hands on the best items before the crowds!

2. Presentation is Everything:
Break out the iron and press all of your clothes and some toys, if necessary. It’ll hide a bit of the pilling as well.

3. The Price is Right:
Most people agree that the best pricing strategy is about one-third of what you paid retail for an item.

4. Add Notes on Sizing:
If something fits like a twelve-month item, but is labeled eighteen months, make a note and make sure it is placed in the twelve month area. Items often get left hanging because they look too big/small in their sections.

5. Read Your Consigning Instructions Twice:
Every sale is a bit different so don’t miss the opportunity to sell because you didn’t follow directions!

We are Baton Rouge's MOST EXCLUSIVE Boutique Consignment Sale. Our sale is the ONLY one limited to boutique brand clothing and accessories. We sell ONLY boutique brands in the best condition. If you have ever been to other consignment sales, you know that you have to dig through lots clothes to find the best. Well, you don't have to do any digging with us. They are ALL the BEST! We also are like a one-stop market. We have vendors with child and family related businesses that rent space during the sale. Our Vendor list is listed on our blog and facebook page.

Do You accept and sell SMOCKED clothing ONLY?
No, we accept any BOUTIQUE BRANDS including, but not limited to, trunk show lines and fine handmade boutique clothing. Please contact us if you are not sure about a brand.

How can I shop the Pre-Sale?
If you are a consignor, volunteer, grandmother or new mom~You can shop the Pre-Sale! A New Mom is an expecting mom or mom of a 6 month old or younger. If you would like to volunteer, check our schedule on our Volunteer page and let us know!

Do you have a store?
No, we are a seasonal consignment sale. We have sales twice a year~ One in Spring and one in Fall at various locations.

What seasons do you accept at the Spring sale? Fall sale?
We accept all seasons at both sales. We like to buy for all year around if the price is right so we figure you would too!

Do you price the items?
No, each consignor is responsible for pricing their own items. You MUST read the tagging instructions on the consignor page. If you have any questions after that, let us know!

What does the red dot mean on the right corner of the tag?
It means that on the last day of our sale, that item will be 30% OFF! So, if you have your eye on that special outfit and it has a red dot, come back for our 30% OFF sale. Although, you do run the risk of it not being there when you come back. Only marked items will be 30% OFF on the sale day.

What is the minimum number of items needed to be a consignor?
You must consign at least TEN items to be a consignor.

When and where do I bring my clothes for the sale?
You will hold your items until the drop-off day designated for each sale. It is usually the morning of the pre-sale. When you register, you will be given more information. Make sure your items are sorted in like sizes to make for an easier drop-off.

Do you accept toys?
No, we do not accept toys.

How do I sign up to be a consignor?
See the Consignor page on our site and choose one of the two options listed.

What else do I need to do besides tag my items and drop them off?
As a consignor, you want your items to sell. So, the more people you tell about the sale, the more people will come shop! Send e-mails to your contact list and ask them to pass it on to friends also! Without you, we could not do what we do! Thanks!

I have a child and family related business and/or know someone with a child and family related business. Can we/they advertise with you?
Yes! We welcome child and family related businesses. Please see our Lagniappe page of our site for more information.

You don’t have to be a perfectionist to obsess about your pregnancy. Let’s face it, you have so much to do and only nine months to do it in. But now there is help in the form of a clever new booklet, The Perfectionist’s Pregnancy Checklist by Baton Rouge native, Kristen Morgan Spring.

A self-confessed checklist junkie, Kristen, a stay-at-home mother of four children, knew she needed a way to stay organized during her pregnancies. Armed with a law degree and a knack for outlining, Kristen set out to make her own checklists when other pregnancy books seemed too broad and overwhelming. Those closest to Kristen knew about those lists and soon they came knocking for a checklist of their own.

The Perfectionist’s Pregnancy Checklist is unique in that it is portable, can be used like a notebook to write your own notes and has subtle hints of southern traditions.Divided by trimesters, you will uncover things to live by, laugh at and learn about-with a little lagniappe thrown in. The booklet is also packed with an arsenal of checklists, including packing for the hospital, interviewing a sitter and pediatrician (and Kristen’s favorite), a checklist for the dad-to-be.

“You don’t have to be a first–time mom to find the book useful,” Kristen adds, “Even a friend who is pregnant with her fourth is finding it useful, as we are all so tired and forgetful during pregnancy. I believe women like it because it is straight forward with a touch of humor!”

The checklists are so thorough you might be overwhelmed at first. It covers everything from prenatal checkups and post baby care, ordering birth announcements and even a salon appointment before your due date. Heed Kristen’s advice and don’t read it all in one sitting, take it one organized trimester at a time.

Here is the tag that you can use to tag your items~ It is much better than the one in the seller's packet but you are welcome to use either one. Just download the image and copy and paste it in word and put as many as you can on a page and print on white cardstock. If it comes out a little blurry, that is ok. You can also make your own~ as long as it has all of the same information. Make sure your items are on children's hangers and tagged with the tags on the right side. Our First Sale...

Hello Friends! Just wanted to give you an update! Our Sale went well (for a garage sale location)! Oh and not to mention my dates on the e-mail were wrong! oops! ;) I knew it wasn't the ideal situation and not the right traffic~ but I needed to move some of my stuff~ fast! And I did! I was thinking about when the next sale would be and wanted to do one before summer. Merry Go Rounds is right around the corner and a new consignment sale to BR, Rhea Lana, is moving in after that! So~ what I might do is put some of the clothes up online to purchase! A virtual Sale without even leaving your home! We may do a Fall /Winter Sale at the end of the summer, depending on how this virtual sale goes. So be looking for new posts soon and if you want to sell or buy something just email me at brsmockmarket@gmail.com. You will get 70% of what it sells for with little effort! Just spread the word to your friends! I would love any comments and/or suggestions also! Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you!

This Saturday, March 7th,we will be having our first Clothing Sale in the neighborhood wide Garage Sale of Woodstone. The address is 306 Woodstone Blvd. First come, first served. Sale starts at 6:30 am! We will have new and gently used smocked and boutique clothing in a variety of sizes, both boys and girls. If you would like to sell any items~ please let me know and we can set you up as a seller and you will get 70% and you don't even have to be there! Just tag your clothes and drop them off by Friday evening and pick them up Saturday afternoon. Hope to see you there! Stay tuned for more info on our next sale~Thanks!
